OsMonitor tracks an employee's computer activities. The employee monitoring software is easy to install, configure and use. The software implements a client-server method of operation. One server can monitor all local area network computers that have the app installed.
Managers can view an employee's activities in real time. Additionally, the PC monitoring app saves logs of the collected data for later viewing. The stored information is useful in tracking a company's overall computer use and identifying network and bandwidth consumption trends.
OsMonitor's screenshot feature can take snapshots of the employee's desktop while they surf the web or perform other online activities. Managers can specify how frequently the PC monitoring application takes an image of the worker's display.
The employee monitoring software records all accessed websites and online searches. Supervisors can view the date, hour, duration and frequency of their employee's website visits.
The employee monitoring software captures all outgoing emails sent via Outlook Express. OsMonitor makes a clandestine copy of the communication and saves it on the server.

Other supported apps include SKYPE, ICQ, AIM, Yahoo and others. In testing, only the screenshot capturing feature recorded the transcripts of these conversations.
The employee monitoring software has multiple online monitoring capabilities. These features include tracking bandwidth usage, file sharing, music downloads and more.
The software has strong computer tracking and management capabilities. OsMonitor records all applications launched, duration and frequency of use plus app idle time. Document tracking features include file reading, creation, modification, copying, pasting, moving and more.
Managers can remotely back up or restore selected employee files. OsMonitor can even prevent a worker from connecting portable drives and devices.
The application has excellent website filtering and blocking capabilities. Managers can filter online content by category or specific search terms.
Employers can elect to allow access only to those websites listed in the app's Trusted List. Alternately, the software will block all websites entered into the Limited List.
Through the implementation of advanced keyword filtering and blocking, the app prevents pornography, gambling, online gaming and social networking websites and searches from displaying on the employee's screen. OsMonitor creates a log of all workers who attempt to view these types of questionable materials.
The app has user level blocking and filtering capabilities. Managers can prevent certain workers from launching specified applications, playing games, connecting USB devices and more. Scheduling internet access for groups of users or an individual is easy to set up.
The reporting features of OsMonitor are somewhat limited. The History Data information tab includes the System Report, Block Report, Applications Report, URL Visited, File Report, LAN Flow Report, Screenshot Report, Email Report, Chat Report and Backup Report.
The employee monitoring software does have a limited search function because of the limited search options available. Managers can export the reports in either HTML or MS Word.
OsMonitor has robust filtering, blocking and scheduling capabilities. The app is an adequate employee monitoring solution but lacks a keylogger component.
